La Plagne / Paradiski area

Chalet Rossa is situated in Crete Cote Village, just above the start of the Olympic Bobsleigh run at the entrance to La Plagne 1800.
The La Plagne area, is in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley, and is comprised of 10 small villages (map on left).  The ski lifts easily connect each village and from Montchavin the Vanoise Express takes you in to Peisey-Vallandry, opening up the whole of the Les Arcs resort area.

This vast ski area, known as Paradiski, offers 425km of pistes, with something for everyone.
La Plagne has a free shuttle bus service (navette) which connects Crete Cote Village to La Roche, Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre and Aime la Plagne.  From Plagne Centre you can get to Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellcote, Plagne Villages and Plagne Soleil. The navette runs from 0600H to 0030H.

2 Minutes on the navette, Plagne 1800 has a Spar supermarket, a bakery and ski hire, ESF with a Club Piou-Piou (ski kindergarten for age 3+).  Reflex ski school come highly recommended and they too operate out of  Plagne 1800.  There are also some very good bars and restaurants.

A further 5 minutes on the navette will take you to Plagne Centre where there is even more choice of shops, restaurants and bars,  including pharmacy, bank and laundrette.

The free Paradiski "YUGE" App is recommended.  It has the latest weather, ski conditions, webcams and even an activity tracker.

Rental Republic will deliver your ski hire to the chalet door.

Oxygene Ski and Snowboard is based in Plagne Centre, and offers a pick up service from the chalet.

There are various cross country ski tracks and walking trails, one starting at the Bobsleigh, just a stones throw from Chalet Rossa. There is an outdoor swimming pool at Plagne Bellcote and there are ice rinks at Aime La Plagne and Plagne Bellcote.

Very close to Chalet Rossa is the Olympic Bobsleigh run (an Albertville winter Olympics venue, 1992).  It has 19 bends with a drop of 1.5km and takes you up to speeds of 110kph.  Open Tuesday to Sunday during the winter season.
